Savannah's no Martha Stewart, and she'll be the first one to admit it. "Some people have a talent in the kitchen; I'm not one of those people," she said. Now, help is on the way! Celeb chef Bobby Flay is taking Savannah to cooking school, teaching her some basics over the next couple of days – hopefully getting the food lover to turn a new leaf.
What DOES Savannah know how to cook? Frozen lasagna and a creamy peanut butter and jelly sandwich, sliced into three strips. Pair that with a glass of red wine and you have the perfect meal … to eat in a dorm room at 2 a.m.
So can Bobby Flay get Savannah to cook some real food?
“I actually requested a fifth hour of the TODAY Show,” Flay quipped, saying he’d do his best in a few segments. On Day 1, Savannah will be learning how to make a basic chicken stock and tomato sauce, and on Day 2, she’ll cook up roast chicken and chicken breasts with wild mushroom vinaigrette.
TODAY
Savannah's "gourmet" creation.
“I expect you to be encouraging in this new venture,” she told Matt and Al, who were on hand to try her PB&J.
“How’d you get a bone in peanut butter and jelly,” Al joked while making choking sounds.
Matt, in contrast, was a little more supportive.
“The peanut butter and jelly is actually pretty good,” he laughed with his mouth full.
Or maybe he just skipped breakfast this morning…
